Etsy Shop

13 May

After going back and forth I finally decided to open up an Etsy shop. I am so excited about finally doing this, it’s a big step for me! I wish I could keep all of my furniture restoration projects, but I think if I bring home one more dresser without the intent of selling it my husband might lose it! 🙂 We are slowly becoming over run with furniture.

I get so excited finding a cool piece at an estate sale or thrift store because I can see the potential. I usually am giddy with a find and can’t wait to get home to get started on painting it to see what it will become.  I have found it’s just as exciting when that piece finds a new home, and someone else can feel that same way. I am starting small and have listed a few things.

The Travelling Elefant

28 Jun

As some of you can tell I have a powerful wanderlust. I love exploring new cultures and countries. I get a little bit depressed when I don’t have a trip on the books, something to look forward too. I am lucky enough to have traveled to many places already. If you haven’t had the opportunity to travel as much as you’d like and are looking for some travel inspiration here are a few trips I have posted under the Travelling Elefant. http://lechicelefant.com/travel/ Its still a work in progress so bear with me. There are many other places I still want to visit.  Here are a few on my bucket list.

Norway: Pulpit Rock

Peru: Machu Picchu

Oregon: Coast Line

Turkey: Thermal Pools

The French Alps: Lake Annecy

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain

Ireland

17 Apr

We just got back from Ireland, it was such an amazing trip. The people there are so warm and welcoming it made me not want to leave. Driving on the opposite side of the road was hard to get use to, and the roads were so tiny making it even more interesting. The country side was so green and lush I swear I thought at any moment a leprechaun was going to pop out from behind a hedge. On more than one occasion I had to exercise great force and not chase down a rainbow in search of a pot of gold. Here are a few of my favorite photos from our trip, I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I enjoyed taking them.
